WHAT I OFFER

Start with a conversation.

Before anything else, we connect.

This conversation gives you an opportunity to share what brings you here, ask questions, and ensure a good fit.

We may explore:

  • What you are hoping to understand, explore, or work through

  • What brought you to natural medicine

  • What kind of support you are looking for

  • Your expectations and intentions

  • Whether the Awareness Peak approach feels like a good fit

  • What the next steps would look like

There is no pressure to move forward.

Sometimes the most important first step is simply having a conversation.

Evaluation

The evaluation is an opportunity to explore your goals, history, current circumstances, support system, expectations, and readiness for this type of work.

This process helps determine whether the services that are offered are an appropriate fit and whether additional support or consultation may be appropriate before moving forward.

We may discuss:

  • Your intentions for the experience

  • Relevant personal and emotional history

  • Current life circumstances and stressors

  • Previous experiences with psychedelics or other altered states

  • Medical history including current medications or other relevant considerations

  • Physical and emotional safety considerations

  • Your support system and environment

  • Expectations surrounding the experience

  • Your ability to work with challenging emotions or uncertainty

  • What you hope may change or become clearer

The goal is not to predict what your experience will be.

The goal is to create the strongest possible foundation for approaching it with safety, awareness, informed choice, preparation, and respect.

Preparation

Once we have determined that we’re a good fit and this work is appropriate, we’ll begin the preparation process. These sessions help you become familiar with the process and develop practical tools for your experience.

Together, we may explore:

  • Setting intentions without becoming attached to a specific outcome

  • Understanding the nature of psychedelic experiences

  • Recognizing that difficult moments can be part of the process

  • Grounding and mindfulness practices

  • Breath and body awareness

  • Emotional regulation skills

  • Creating a supportive setting

  • Identifying personal resources and sources of comfort

  • Developing a plan for after the experience

  • Discussing boundaries, communication, and support

  • Preparing loved ones or trusted supports when appropriate

Preparation is not about trying to control the experience.

It is about learning how to meet the experience.

The journey itself.

For those who are appropriately assessed, prepared, and choosing to participate within the applicable Colorado natural medicine framework, the psilocybin experience is approached with safety, intention, preparation, respect, and care.

The experience begins well before the medicine is taken.

Before the session

We revisit:

  • Your intention

  • Your plan for the experience

  • The environment and comfort

  • Communication and support

  • Practical considerations for the day

  • What to expect when the experience begins

  • Ways to respond if challenging emotions or sensations arise

You are not expected to “do” anything during the experience.

During the experience

The experience may involve changes in perception, emotion, memory, sense of time, bodily awareness, or perspective.

You may experience:

  • Deep emotions

  • Memories or personal reflections

  • Shifts in perspective

  • Heightened sensory awareness

  • Periods of stillness or inward attention

  • Joy, gratitude, sadness, uncertainty, or other emotions

  • Experiences that are difficult to immediately understand

There is no predetermined outcome.

The role of support is to provide a safe, grounded, respectful presence while allowing you to have your own experience.

You do not have to navigate difficult terrain alone.

After the experience

The session does not end simply because the acute effects have subsided.

Time is provided to return gradually, reconnect with your surroundings, and transition out of the experience.

We may briefly reflect on what you are noticing without attempting to immediately interpret or explain everything.

Some experiences make immediate sense.

Others unfold over days, weeks, or longer.

That is why integration matters.

Turn experience into something you can live.

An experience can be powerful.

But lasting change often comes from what happens afterward.

Integration creates space to slow down, reflect, and explore what the experience may mean within the context of your everyday life.

Together, we may explore:

  • What you experienced

  • What surprised you

  • Emotions or memories that surfaced

  • New perspectives

  • Questions that remain

  • Changes in relationships or priorities

  • Patterns you may now see differently

  • Insights you want to carry forward

  • Practical changes you may want to make

  • Ways to reconnect with your values and intentions

Integration is not about forcing an interpretation.

It is about making room for meaning to emerge.

The question becomes:

“How do I live differently because of what I experienced?”

That might mean making a small change.

Having a difficult conversation.

Creating a healthier boundary.

Returning to something you love.

Letting something go.

Or simply becoming more aware of how you move through your life.

Prepare through the mind & body.

The psychedelic experience is not only something that happens in the mind.

Yoga and mindful movement can provide another pathway for developing awareness before a natural medicine experience.

Sessions may incorporate:

  • Gentle yoga

  • Breath awareness

  • Grounding

  • Body scanning

  • Mindful movement

  • Stillness

  • Meditation

  • Somatic awareness

The purpose is not performance.

It is learning to notice what is happening within you without immediately needing to change it.

These practices can become tools you can return to before, during, and after your experience.

NATURE SESSIONS

Some conversations belong outside.

Nature creates space to slow down, breathe, and reconnect.

Walking alongside the mountains can offer a different kind of environment,  one that allows conversation, silence, movement, and observation to coexist.

Nature sessions may include:

  • Mindful walking, or hiking

  • Intentional conversation

  • Grounding practices

  • Breathwork

  • Sitting in stillness

  • Connecting with the natural environment

There is no need to force insight.

Sometimes clarity comes when we stop trying so hard to find it.

One step. One breath. One moment at a time.

Meet KRISTA

I’ve climbed mountains made of granite, and I’ve climbed through grief and uncertainty, each changing me in ways I could have never imagined.

I was born in Wisconsin where “ope” is a lifestyle and cheese curds are a food group.  I’m equal parts mountain lover and comfy couch sitter. After losing my son, a US Marine, the world felt unrecognizable and somewhere within the wreckage, I decided the only reasonable thing to do was to start climbing state highpoints and 14ers, and crossing finish lines in triathlons. Eventually, I found my way driving to the mountains and living in Colorado. Step by step, the mountains gave back my authentic smile, and natural psilocybin medicine gave back my life.

That journey became the heart for Awareness Peak: a space built on the belief that healing isn’t getting over something or reaching a destination, but taking the next step even when the heart is heavy.

As a Colorado Natural Medicine Professional, I meet you where you are; with empathy, presence, and a deep respect for the path you are walking. I don’t just understand this work professionally, I understand it personally.

What if there is more beyond where you are standing?
